Ques 1. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the software as a service model?

Ans1: Several advantages of the software-as-a-service model include the elimination of the need for large up-front capital investments or lengthy implementation on corporate computers. It also requires no hardware and can be implemented in 0-3 months. Several disadvantages include having to pay a fee and the possibility of downloading unreliable software. It also presents a problem if the Internet does not function properly.

Ques2.What are some of the challenges facing Salesforce as it continues its growth? How well will it be able to meet those challenges?

Ans.2: There are several challenges that face Salesforce.com. One problem is the increasing presence of major industry competitors such as SAP and Microsoft. Another challenge facing Salesforce.com is it’s limited product line. Salesforce.com needs to expand its business models into other areas. Salesforce.com recently went into a partnership with Google to counteract Microsoft’s entry into the cloud computing market. To counteract the challenge of widening its business operations, Salesforce.com should release applications or software to download for subscribing that deal in areas outside the cloud computing industry.

Ques3.What kind of business could benefit from switching to Salesforce and why?  

Ans 3:  Many e-business would benefit from implementing Salesforce.com. This implementation would streamline day-to-day activities and make computing and problem solving simpler for employees and customers alike. Large corporations would benefit from Salesforce.com as well.  This would make working with employees across international borders easier.

Ques 4. What factors would you take into account in deciding whether to use Salesforce.com for your business?

Ans4:  When deciding whether or not to implement Salesforce.com with my business, I would need to consider several factors. One of these factors would be how reliable the Internet access is. Another factor would be the size of said business. If I owned a smaller business with a handful of employees then Salesforce.com would be unnecessary.
